and had breakfast at an open air restaurant overlooking the
water.
We were joined by a little bird looking for some
breakfast.
We drove down to the Urangan Pier to take a bit of a
walk.
The pier was originally built in the early 1900’s for use in loading ships with the sugar that was the main crop in the area. It is 2,848 feet long. It was really windy so we only went out a little ways.

The pier was beside a small beach.
We drove along the coastline for a while. The town of Torquay also had a pier (but pretty small) and we got a few photos of the beach from there.
We finally found some of the areas with shops and restaurants (there are few near our hotel). We shopped a bit for souvenirs and eventually made it all the way out to Point Vernon...
before heading back to the hotel.

In the evening we went back to one of the Mexican restaurants
we had seen on our drive. Pretty good
food.
It was a slow but easy day.
