2020-03-09 – Another rainy day and an early departure from Fraser Island

The rain was coming down in buckets this morning.  We debated heading down to the lodge for breakfast but decided to stay dry in the room.  We finished off some cookies for breakfast (two each).  How is that for brekky? 

We were scheduled to leave today on the 2:00 pm ferry back to the mainland so that we could have most of another day of sightseeing.  However, given the lousy weather we arranged to leave the island on 10:30 ferry.  Fortunately they have a shuttle around the resort so we didn’t get too wet waiting for it to show up.

We were back in Hervey Bay by noon and found a place for lunch.  The skies opened up while we ate.  It basically rained pretty hard well into the afternoon. 

We were back in town (Urangan) by lunch time.  We drove down along the waterfront and found a place to eat.  We were back to the hotel by mid-afternoon.  By then the rain had let up a little bit but it was still not a good day to be out and about.
