Our plans for some hikes today were curtailed due to rain. It was intermittent but significant when it
was falling. We did have a break
mid-morning, so we headed to the lodge for breakfast. For a while we thought it would clear so we
could get out, but no such luck.
We heard the kookaburra’s…they are pretty loud and when the laugh it is
really distinctive. The laugh is
actually their warning call, warning others away from their territory.
We also saw a blue-faced honeyeater eating seeds from a banksia. So, the day wasn’t a total loss.
Even the banksia "seed pods" were rather photogentic.
Good thing we stocked up on dinner from the general store the night before so we didn’t have to go out in the rain.
