2020-03-05 – Sunshine Coast

We are on our way to Hervey Bay today.  It isn’t a long drive but we left early in order to take our time and hit some of the towns along the Sunshine Coast.  After we were well out of Brisbane we finally hit a route to take us to the coastline.  We stopped took a short walk out to Kawana beach.  It is pretty hot and humid today.

We drove on further to Cartwright where there were great views down the coast…

a fairly unassuming lighthouse,

and a water reservoir that was beautifully painted.  Apparently, the water district had an artist program in place to try to make the more visible reservoirs prettier.  They succeeded.

We stopped in Mooloolaba for lunch at the surf club.

Then it was off to Hervey Bay.  The countryside is lush and green and a bit like Ireland with eucalyptus trees.  We didn’t stop to take in photos.  That was an oversight.

We are staying for only one night in Hervey Bay before we head off to Fraser Island.  However, we will be back for a few days after the island.
